Dry skin is caused by a natural lack of oil production. With a lack of oil, your skin becomes dry and begins developing tiny cracks in the outer layer, interfering with its ability to maintain hydration properly.
Having dry and flaky skin can feel frustrating and so we have put together 3 recommendations on how you can turn your skin from dry and flaky to hydrated and glowing.
1. Add an oil serum into your skincare routine which is packed with natural fatty acids.
Dry skin is caused by a natural lack of oil. If your complexion naturally doesn’t produce enough oil, your skin will become dry and flaky. Incorporating an oil based serum into your skincare routine is recommended if you struggle with dry and flaky skin.

2. Look for a moisturiser which includes hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is well known for alleviating dry skin, whilst having the added benefit of reducing the appearance of fine lines. Known to hold 1,000 times its wright in water, hyaluronic acid is incredible for retaining moisture in skin cells, allowing your skin to feel more hydrated and plump.
When choosing which moisturiser to include in your daily skincare routine, a moisturiser which has hyaluronic acid as an active ingredient is strongly recommended for those with dry skin.
Dry & Flaky Bundle ($175)
Our Green Tea Infused Hydrating Moisturiser is a great option, featuring the active ingredients: hyaluronic acid (to hydrate), desert lime (full of Vitamin C to brighten and give a radiant glow) and green tea (to calm redness and inflammation). For those with dry skin, nothing is more important than regularly moisturising to hydrate and strengthen the skin’s protective moisture barrier.
3. Avoid cleansing in the shower as it’s best to cleanse with lukewarm water, never hot.
A steamy shower usually feels good, but isn’t so great for your dry skin. A lot of us tend to cleanse our face in the shower but this is to be avoided particularly if you suffer from dry skin. Instead, don’t cleanse in the shower and make sure the water is only lukewarm. Hot water strips your skin of natural oils, can make your skin more dry, as well as leading to premature ageing and breakouts.
The best water temperature when cleansing your face is warm water. Cold water doesn’t always remove the daily grime, whilst hot water may irritate your skin. Warm water helps loosen the dirt, but preserves your skin’s natural hydrating oils.
Anti Redness Cream Cleanser ($59.95)
Our Anti Redness Cream Cleanser is packed with beautiful natural hydrating ingredients such as Jacaranda and Elderflower to gentle cleanse and hydrate the skin.
